HSE Specialist

As an HSE Specialist at ABB’s Ede site, you will drive a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment. You will coach colleagues, lead compliance and audits, and support shop-floor safety initiatives. Your work blends strategic insight with hands-on execution to raise awareness and deliver continuous improvements in health, safety, and environmental performance. You’ll collaborate across production, sales, and leadership to embed strong HSE practices and sustainability initiatives.

• Drive behavioral change and raise awareness on HSE topics
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, procedures, and certifications
• Implement new legislation, directives, and HSE initiatives
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
• Develop, maintain, and improve HSE procedures, work instructions, and reporting
• Investigate incidents and initiate corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure availability of safety equipment, tools, and PPE
• Support HSE activities in manufacturing and commercial areas (including Sales)
• Collaborate with national and international stakeholders to strengthen ABB’s HSE culture
• Initiate and support sustainability and circularity projects

• Bachelor's degree level (HBO)
• Higher Safety Management (HVK) qualification
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
• Experience with ISO certifications and management systems
• Extensive experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
• Knowledge of electrical engineering and NEN3140 is advantageous
• Ability to translate legislation into concrete actions and implementation plans
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
