Senior Tax Consultant - Indirect Taxes

As a Senior Tax Consultant - US SALT, you will support Booking.com’s compliance with US state and local taxes and advise on tax implications for new business initiatives. You will manage cross-functional US SALT matters, coordinate with tax advisors, and translate business activities into tax outcomes. The role sits in the Trips BU and involves collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective tax risk management and timely implementation. • Translate business activities into US SALT implications and monitor US SALT developments
• Address key US SALT and related tax challenges across business areas
• Coordinate and manage a portfolio of complex US SALT matters across departments/geographies
• Support Senior Tax Managers from scoping to resolution, including stakeholder management and change initiatives
• Collaborate with other tax verticals/horizontals for global tax compliance (US SALT)
• Coordinate and manage project portfolios on complex topics
• Conduct technical analysis for tax challenges
• Coordinate and oversee work of tax advisors

• University degree or equivalent experience in Tax Economics/Law or similar degree
• 4 to 7 years of US SALT experience in a big 4 or international environment
• Experience with digital economy taxation (marketplace facilitator statutes, hotel occupancy and sales taxes, SaaS) is a plus
• Familiar with digital economy/e-commerce tax issues
• Strong research skills with data sets
• Effective communication, multi-tasking, stakeholder management and strategic networking
• Experience with data analysis and technology (AI tools)
