Underwriter Property, Benelux

In this role you will underwrite and manage the domestic property portfolio for Benelux, focusing on the Dutch market. You’ll work with brokers and clients to tailor solutions, while collaborating with a supportive team to drive growth and operational excellence. You contribute to risk assessment, product development, and cross-selling across AXA XL’s property offerings. The role offers autonomy, exposure to complex cases, and a clear path to deepen expertise within a global insurer. You will help shape the portfolio strategy in a regulated, growth-driven environment.

• Underwrite and grow the domestic property portfolio in line with the business plan
• Build and maintain broker and client relationships
• Negotiate with property brokers to meet profit objectives
• Service clients on insurance and risk management matters and pursue cross-selling opportunities
• Oversee business development and submission flow to targets
• Support business planning and forecasting
• Monitor aggregate exposure and premium income within limits
• Maintain awareness of claims advised and assist in settlement input
• Contribute to risk design and evaluation of property risks including CATNAT
• Identify and drive new product development opportunities
• Collaborate with other product lines and support areas in Benelux

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in finance/business, law, insurance, engineering or related fields
• Good knowledge of the insurance market with experience in Property Insurance
• Strong business development, influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments with flexibility and innovation
• IT literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent English and Dutch communication skills
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and presentation confidence
• Team player with ability to work independently and mentor juniors
