Application Manager R&D

As Application Manager R&D, you manage both functional and technical aspects of core R&D applications, ensuring production stability and service levels. You will collaborate with users, vendors, and stakeholders to support Nouryon’s Innovation Laboratories and drive continuous improvement. You’ll lead incident handling, changes, and documentation while shaping the digital product landscape for science, safety, and engineering. This role offers the chance to influence how critical lab applications enable sustainable innovation.

• Manage incident handling for application-related tickets and ensure timely resolution
• Monitor application performance and maintain production environment integrity
• Operationalize and align priority setting with business needs
• Escalate and implement changes per policy and standard packages
• Ensure IM process compliance and maintain comprehensive technical/process/user documentation
• Co-own activities to ensure applications function correctly and efficiently
• Participate in implementation, improvement, and optimization projects
• Execute end-to-end changes including analysis, solution design, testing, and aftercare
• Create and maintain training materials; support key-user training needs
• Engage with labs during periodic visits to review issues and onboard new applications
• Collaborate with vendors and users to support core application landscape
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and ongoing evolution of applications

• Bachelor in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; or degree in Chemistry with application management experience
• Experience with business applications, preferably LIMS or similar, and strong Microsoft environment knowledge
• Familiarity with IT standards/frameworks: ITIL, COBIT, CMM
• Experience working in Agile Scrum environments
• Certification/experience in system maintenance, configuration, or customization
• Knowledge of business processes related to standard software packages and custom developments
• Strong stakeholder relationship skills and understanding of IT/SLAs
• English communication proficiency; Dutch is an advantage
