AI Platform Engineer

As an AI Platform Engineer at Picnic, you will build tools and infrastructure to move AI from experiments to dependable production, including model access, tracing, evaluation, fine-tuning, and low-latency serving. You’ll shape the technical direction for AI usage across search, personalization, and fulfillment automation, partnering with product teams. Expect to tackle cost-efficient AI gateways, end-to-end tracing, and scalable open-weight models in production. You’ll enable developers with clear APIs, SDKs, and tooling to accelerate AI-enabled workflows. • Develop and operate AI infrastructure for production-grade models, including access, tracing, evaluation, and monitoring
• Evolve AI Gateway with provider integrations, model routing, fallbacks, rate limits, privacy controls, and cost attribution
• Standardize LLM tracing, evals, benchmarking across prompts, models, retrieval, tools, and agent state
• Productionize open-weight models: fine-tune, evaluate, and serve in real time and batch workloads
• Provide APIs, SDKs, templates, and local tooling to enable developers to build with AI and run agents in production

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, especially Python
• Experience building self-service AI platforms and scaling adoption
• Proven production experience with language models/ML systems emphasizing reliability, latency, security, and cost
