Senior Principal System Engineer

In this Senior Principal role, you will act as the global technical authority for next‑gen signal chain products, guiding architecture and roadmap. You’ll bridge R&D, marketing and Tier‑1 customers to translate needs into scalable silicon solutions. You’ll own system-level optimization, risk management and technical decisions across automotive, industrial and high-volume markets. This is a high-impact, cross‑functional position at Nexperia’s Nijmegen HQ that shapes product direction and customer outcomes.

• Define system architectures for voltage translators and signal chain interfaces
• Translate market and customer needs into actionable technical specs
• Collaborate with design, verification and test on power, area and cost trade-offs
• Drive system-level optimization and risk management
• Evaluate prototype silicon for performance against requirements
• Develop datasheets, app notes and user guides
• Provide system‑level customer support including schematic review and debugging
• Act as primary technical interface for key customers and field teams
• Lead technical reviews to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Partner with foundries and NPI teams to select optimal processes

• 10–15 years of experience in system-level semiconductor design
• Strong ability to translate customer and market needs into robust, manufacturable solutions
• Deep understanding of system-level trade-offs (performance, cost, power)
• Experience as technical interface between engineering, marketing and customers in global environments
• Hands-on silicon bring-up, validation, characterization and lab-based debugging
• Strong analytical, structured problem-solving skills and technical decision leadership
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring in projects
