Principal Consultant EHS

As a Principal Consultant EHS at ERM, you will guide industrial clients across the Netherlands to elevate EHS performance and risk management. You will lead audits, design and implement management systems, and drive safety culture and process safety initiatives. The role blends technical expertise with advisory (client-facing) work and business development to expand ERM’s Dutch footprint. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful safety and sustainability improvements.

• Lead EHS compliance and management system audits
• Support operational risk management and safety improvement programmes
• Deliver risk assessments, incident investigations, and hazard studies
• Develop and implement EHS management systems, standards, and procedures
• Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and contractor management initiatives
• Deliver safety leadership, behavioural safety, and safety culture programmes
• Advise clients on integrating EHS and sustainability objectives
• Manage projects and cultivate long-term client relationships
• Contribute to business development and grow ERM’s Dutch presence

• 8+ years of experience in EHS consulting and/or industrial operations
• Strong experience in EHS auditing, compliance, operational risk management, and safety performance improvement
• Ability to engage confidently with clients and senior stakeholders
• Commercial awareness and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
• Fluent Dutch and English
• Experience in PSM, contractor management, safety leadership, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, or major hazard industries is highly valued
