R D Engineer Renewable Heat Technology

As an R&D Engineer in a hands-on environment, you will help develop renewable industrial heat solutions combining solar thermal, Power-to-Heat and Thermal Energy Storage. You will move from concept through prototype, validation and field deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams. Your work will improve efficiency, reliability and scalability of physical technologies in a decarbonisation-focused company. You will gain exposure to international testing and implementation of novel thermal systems.

• Develop and improve components and systems for renewable industrial heat
• Manage full product development cycle from concept to prototype and validation
• Perform mechanical and thermodynamic calculations and simulations
• Design and develop new components and system improvements
• Build and test prototypes and validate technical solutions
• Analyze system performance to identify efficiency and reliability improvements
• Collaborate with suppliers to source and develop new components
• Prepare designs for manufacture and deployment
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of prototypes
• Coordinate with electrical, engineering, project and commercial teams
• Travel internationally for prototype installation and testing when required

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering or a closely related discipline
• Ideally 3+ years of relevant engineering/R&D experience
• Strong theoretical and practical engineering skills
• Experience with product development, prototyping or engineering projects
• Comfortable moving between calculations/design work and hands-on testing
• Experience with thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanical systems or energy technology
• Strong problem-solving ability and a hands-on mindset
• Interest in renewable energy and industrial decarbonisation
• Willingness to travel internationally
