Enterprise Corporate Engineering Lead

In this role you will establish Corporate Engineering as a new capability within Optiver’s Platform Engineering group, owning the direction, team, and operating model for the corporate technology stack. You will shape the architecture and roadmap across enterprise functions, emphasizing AI-enabled workflow redesign, data foundations, and strong collaboration with business units. You’ll build and lead a high-caliber team based in Amsterdam with global teammates, delivering scalable, well-designed solutions. • Define the technology vision and architecture for corporate functions, balancing scalability, governance, security, cost, and consistency
• Set and own the engineering roadmap in partnership with business functions
• Incorporate cost, feasibility, and reuse into prioritization to justify build vs. buy decisions
• Build and lead a high-caliber software engineering team, primarily in Amsterdam with distributed members
• Contribute to the software engineering output of the Corporate Engineering team
• Develop trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in finance, people, legal, and compliance
• Drive build vs. buy decisions with clear rationale and vendor platform considerations
• Solve common problems once and reuse solutions via knowledge bases, agent harnesses, and integration/automation patterns
• Collaborate with Enterprise, Data and AI platform teams to leverage existing building blocks
• Reduce administrative and operational burden for corporate functions, enabling strategic work by staff
• Create an engineering organization trusted to deliver scalable, well‑designed solutions

• Experienced engineering leader with a track record of building and growing software teams
• Experience leading complex transformation programs end to end
• Credible with senior business leaders delivering technology and change to executives (finance, people, legal, compliance)
• Strong enterprise architecture across integration, orchestration, data and identity
• Knowledgeable about AI, automation, data and process transformation in a corporate context
• Technically credible near production systems and difficult delivery problems
• Product-minded, able to distinguish problem worth solving from requests
• Commercially grounded, linking technology decisions to cost and value
• Strong communication skills across audiences with varying technical depth
