Senior Android Engineer

As Senior Android Engineer at Sunweb Group, you own end-to-end Android features from design to release and monitoring. You’ll build customer-facing experiences in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose, in a modernising codebase focused on reliability and user-centric travel journeys. You collaborate with iOS and backend teams to ensure platform parity while maintaining native quality. • Own features from refinement and technical design through testing, Play Store release and production monitoring
• Build and evolve Android experiences using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Act as a technical reference for Android via code reviews, architecture decisions and mentoring
• Collaborate with iOS and backend engineers to deliver parity without sacrificing native quality
• Evolve a modular Gradle codebase using clean-architecture principles
• Apply dependency injection, Coroutines and Flow effectively
• Integrate and protect revenue-critical customer journeys (payments, excursions, transfers)
• Utilise Firebase, Analytics and New Relic to understand user behaviour and improve app health
• Use modern coding tools to improve productivity and code quality

• Several years (5+) of Kotlin experience in production Android apps
• Production experience with Jetpack Compose
• Solid knowledge of Coroutines, Flow, state management and Android lifecycle
• Experience with clean or layered architecture and dependency injection
• Gradle experience in multi-module projects including build types/flavours
• Automated testing, Git workflows, code reviews and CI practices
• Play Console release-management experience (signing, versioning, staged rollouts)
• Experience consuming REST APIs and designing caching behavior
• Experience integrating third‑party SDKs, ideally including payment services
• English proficiency
