Senior Manager, MLE - Gen AI

Lead a team of applied researchers and engineers to advance AI-powered recommender systems at eBay. You will shape agentic workflows, deploy models at scale, and drive innovations across NLP, LLMs, and production ML. Collaborate with product, design, and analytics to deliver personalized shopping experiences for millions of users. This is a chance to influence how people interact with recommendations and scale AI across a high-velocity marketplace.

• Lead and manage a team of researchers and engineers with expertise in NLP, LLMs, agentic workflows, and ML production engineering
• Set strategy for agentic workflows across surfaces within eBay
• Influence interactions with recommender systems and guide future technology evolution
• Work with large unstructured multimodal data from inventory and users
• Develop and deploy state-of-the-art AI models
• Deploy big data technologies and large-scale data pipelines
• Drive marketplace GMV through iterative A/B testing

• MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field with 8 years of experience (or BS/BA with 10 years)
• People management experience leading 4+ member teams
• Experience leading ML/AI teams in a rapid, production-focused environment (Python, PyTorch)
• Experience with cloud services, big data pipelines and databases
• Experience in NLP and industrial recommender systems
• Experience in production engineering practices and OO languages (Scala, Java) for high-volume web apps
• Publications, patents, or technical blogs is a plus
