Machine Learning Engineer

In this role you apply advanced data science and ML engineering to optimize pricing, forecasting, and recommendations for sennder’s AI-native logistics platform. You work closely with end-users and product teams to turn prototypes into production-ready models, driving profitability and efficiency. You’ll explore new ML solutions for freight routing and network optimization, while collaborating across a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. • Improve bid estimation and margin optimization within the dynamic pricing engine
• Develop predictive models for carrier behavior and market capacity
• Maintain and enhance recommender systems supporting daily operations
• Explore innovative ML approaches for core logistics problems (routing, network optimization)
• Partner with Product Managers to translate operational problems into ML hypotheses and prototypes
• Leverage foundational models and AI agents to accelerate workflows and build internal products
• Adopt end-to-end deployment practices from R&D through production release and monitoring
• Collaborate with the Data & AI Platform (MLOps) team to deploy models on internal infrastructure

• 5+ years of hands-on Data Science or ML Engineering experience
• Strong foundation in statistics, hypothesis testing, and data exploration
• Experience addressing regression and classification problems
• Proven ability to deploy models to production and write modular code
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Git
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake)
• Jupyter Notebooks usage and creating interactive dashboards (e.g., Streamlit, PowerBI)
• Knowledge of LLMs and AI tools in production environments
• Ability to translate complex logistics problems into data-driven solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional teams
