Java Backend Developer

As a Dutch Backend Developer, you will build, optimize, and maintain server-side Java logic for our clients, ensuring scalable and high-performance solutions. You’ll collaborate with frontend, data analysts, and product stakeholders to deliver robust backend services and APIs. The role emphasizes clean, secure, and well-documented code, with a focus on integration, performance, and DevOps-aligned delivery. This is a chance to shape backend capabilities within a data-driven marketing technology environment and work across cross-functional teams to impact real-world outcomes.

• Develop and maintain high-performance Java server-side logic
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate client-facing features with backend services
• Design and implement APIs and RESTful services
• Set up, maintain, and optimize databases
• Improve performance, scalability, and security
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks
• Write clean, scalable code following Java best practices
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Product Management to deliver robust applications
• Maintain technical and API documentation

• Dutch citizenship and fluency in Dutch
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent experience)
• Proven Java development experience with core Java concepts and modern features
• Solid experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate/JPA, and RESTful API design
• SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases
• Maven or Gradle and Git
• Backend experience with ability to adapt to additional languages
