Development Specialist

As a Development Specialist, you bridge customers and Trinseo Plastics Solutions to advance sustainable materials in SAN, ABS, PC/ABS and PC Compounds. You drive technical service and product development for industrial applications, with a focus on ignition-resistant solutions. You will lead development projects across R&D, commercial, manufacturing, and supply chain while supporting distribution channels and key accounts in Europe. Your work shapes new materials and processing technologies, guided by safe chemistry and sustainability principles. This role offers a meaningful impact on product and application innovation within a global team.

• Develop and commercialize sustainable products, applications, and processing technologies
• Lead development projects to resolve critical quality challenges
• Support distribution channels, develop new direct accounts, and expand application opportunities
• Provide timely, high-quality technical support to distribution partners and key customers in Europe
• Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities aligned with the business strategy
• Communicate new product and application developments to stakeholders and customers
• Prepare high-quality technical documentation, including scientific reports
• Act as Technology & Innovation representative for the Compounds & Blends business management team

• PhD in Chemistry, or MSc in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science; or MSc in Mechanical Engineering with plastics experience
• Minimum 3 years (preferably 5) in the chemical industry, ideally in plastics
• Expertise in polymer processing technologies (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, compounding)
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis (advantage)
• Strong English and Dutch communication; presentation and organizational skills
• Additional language skills (German and/or French) are a plus
• Willingness to travel across Europe up to 30%
