Lead VAT Accountant

In this role you will lead VAT compliance for the EMEA region, partnering with external advisors and the internal business to ensure timely filings and accurate tax reporting. You will extract data from SAP, validate it, and manage VAT balance sheet reconciliations and forecasting. You’ll drive process improvements to enhance controls and reporting, while acting as a key liaison between advisors and the business. • Coordinate monthly VAT filings (VAT return, Intrastat, EC Sales Lists) for multiple European entities
• Extract and analyse SAP data to support filings and liaise with external advisors
• Review and approve filings before submission to authorities
• Initiate VAT payments by deadlines
• Oversee compliance controls, cash tax management, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Interface with advisors and business to resolve queries and validate treatments
• Drive process improvements for better controls and faster reporting
• Draft responses to non-standard requests from stakeholders and authorities

• 3+ years in a VAT function
• Experience in one or more European jurisdictions
• SAP knowledge; accounting background advantageous
• Analytical, accurate, problem-solver with strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and communication abilities
• Proactive, collaborative, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
