Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist in Tencent Games, you apply advanced analytics and ML to solve large-scale gaming challenges. You will partner with product and engineering teams to translate data into strategies that drive business value. You’ll deliver actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders and stay at the forefront of AI and data science in gaming. This role combines research with practical application, shaping how players experience our games and how we innovate with data.

• Analyze large-scale datasets to tackle business and technical challenges using analytics, forecasting, ML, recommender systems, generative AI, experimentation, causal inference, and econometrics
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop data-driven strategies and implement solutions that enhance business value
• Deliver actionable business insights to stakeholders
• Stay updated on the latest data science and AI advancements and apply them to gaming
• Engage in technical knowledge sharing, documentation, and cross-team collaboration

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field
• Experience in statistical analysis (probabilities, hypothesis testing, multivariate/time-series analysis, predictive modeling, A/B testing)
• Experience building complex data products and machine learning systems on large datasets
• Hands-on fraud detection experience is a plus
• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Strong understanding of modern AI/LLM with practical applications
• Excellent communication, collaboration, execution, and business acumen
