You lead a Data Science & AI team at Lely, shaping data-driven strategies to transform dairy farming. You mentor and grow a multi-disciplinary team, delivering AI-powered solutions that improve farm efficiency and animal welfare. You influence investment and roadmap decisions to accelerate data science initiatives across the organization. • Lead, coach and develop the Data Science & AI team, including people management and HR responsibilities.
• Create conditions for a high-performing team through growth, knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
• Shape DS & AI strategy and translate it into a roadmap with Business Teams and other DS/AI leaders.
• Build strong partnerships with stakeholders inside Lely and with external development partners.
• Increase adoption and impact of DS & AI solutions across the organization.
• Help define the future of AI at Lely by identifying opportunities, emerging technologies and strategic investments.

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Informatics).
• Proven leadership experience with people management and HR responsibility.
• Strong focus on coaching and developing team members.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Science, AI and Machine Learning in a business or industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience with DS/AI tooling and platforms such as Python and Databricks.
• Ability to balance long-term strategy with short-term delivery and results.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
• Solid understanding of DS/AI landscape and capability to assess opportunities and technical direction.
