Senior Accountant - Payments Accounting Projects

In this role you will shape the accounting approach for strategic fintech in Amsterdam. You’ll ensure accounting integrity as new payment features and PSP partnerships are designed, implemented, and launched. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable scalable fund flows between customers and partners and to support accurate monthly closings for new initiatives. This position offers meaningful impact on product launches and financial controls within a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

• Lead discovery, design, implementation, testing and aftercare of new initiatives from an accounting perspective with emphasis on long-term scalability
• Define and influence end-to-end process flows that meet accounting requirements
• Solve accounting and implementation challenges, acting as SME for the broader team
• Collaborate with Data Analytics and BI teams to design and test reporting for monthly closing
• Document all process flows and lead required meetings, ensuring robust controls and compliance
• Scope and support continuous process improvements to existing processes
• Engage with stakeholders to align on accounting requirements and reporting for new initiatives
• Oversee monthly close for launched initiatives until transitioned to standard month-end close
• Coordinate with local accountants and external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance

• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with accounting projects and project management preferred
• Exposure to US GAAP and month-end close procedures
• Strong IT experience in financial systems, SAP S4 Hana preferred
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Strong interpersonal communication and stakeholder management skills
