Ocean Import Forwarder (Recruitment & Selection) - Rozenburg (Schiphol-Rijk)
As an Ocean Import Forwarder, you oversee and direct incoming sea freight shipments from pickup at the port of origin to delivery at the final destination. You begin your working day by reviewing vessel arrival updates and aligning clearance schedules with shipping lines, hauliers, and customs partners. Throughout the day, you process transport bookings into the system, negotiate container rates, and verify that all shipments strictly match the agreed delivery terms. You finish your workday by checking the administrative accuracy of each file and proactively informing your customers about delivery timelines.

In this Recruitment & Selection role, you will be employed directly by our client!
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and monitoring international ocean import shipments from booking through to door delivery
- Handling import files under EXW, FCA, and FAS Incoterms with accurate administrative execution
- Requesting and negotiating spot rates and haulage pricing with shipping lines and transport partners
- Entering booking confirmations and shipment data into the freight forwarding management system
- Instructing carriers, warehouse depots, and truck drivers on loading and delivery schedules
- Tracking transport milestones and proactively communicating progress updates to customers
- Verifying customs documents, bills of lading, and delivery orders for full compliance
- Processing project invoices, registering operating costs, and closing operational shipment files
Requirements
- Demonstrable work experience in a similar forwarding role within ocean freight operations
- Practical working experience handling EXW, FCA, and FAS shipments
- Vocational or higher professional education level (MBO or HBO) in logistics, transport, or supply chain
- Strong operational knowledge of FCL and LCL ocean import procedures
- Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
- Accurate working attitude, proactive mindset, and ability to keep overview under deadlines
- Practical working experience with CargoWise is considered a plus

- Gross monthly salary between € 3,150 and € 3,400 based on knowledge and experience
- Full-time position of 40 hours per week
- 25 holiday days based on a full-time contract
