Ocean Import Forwarder (Recruitment & Selection)
As an Ocean Import Forwarder, you manage and coordinate incoming sea freight flows from booking through to final delivery. You start your workday by reviewing open import files and aligning schedules with shipping lines, customs brokers, and hauliers. Throughout the day, you process shipment details in the system, request rates, and ensure correct handling in accordance with applicable delivery terms. You conclude your day with an up-to-date status administration and proactively update clients regarding their scheduled arrival times.

In this Recruitment & Selection role, you will be employed directly by our client!

Responsibilities

Coordinating and monitoring incoming sea freight shipments from start to finish
Applying and processing specific Incoterms accurately across import files
Requesting and negotiating freight and transport rates with carriers and shipping lines
Booking transports and entering shipment data accurately into the system
Instructing and dispatching logistics subcontractors and drivers
Monitoring delivery milestones proactively and keeping clients informed of shipment statuses
Preparing, reviewing, and finalizing all required transport documents
Managing file invoicing and accurate cost registration

Requirements

Proven work experience in a similar role as an ocean freight forwarder
Experience handling EXW (Ex Works), FCA (Free Carrier), and FAS (Free Alongside Ship) shipments
Vocational or higher professional education level (MBO/HBO) in logistics or supply chain
Solid knowledge of FCL and LCL ocean import procedures
Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
Accurate working method and resilience when managing tight deadlines
Experience with CargoWise software is an advantage

We offer

Direct contract with our client
Gross monthly salary between € 3,150 and € 3,400 based on knowledge and experience
Full-time contract of 40 hours per week
25 holiday days based on a full-time contract
8% holiday allowance
