Ocean Import Forwarder (Recruitment & Selection) - Rozenburg (Schiphol-Rijk)

As an Ocean Import Forwarder, you oversee and organize incoming ocean freight consignments from origin pickup to final destination. You start your day by checking incoming vessel schedules and aligning shipment releases with carriers, customs brokers, and haulage partners. During the shift, you register new bookings into the logistics system, request transport quotations, and ensure all shipments comply with agreed incoterms and delivery conditions. You end your day by finalizing cost entries in the operational files and providing clients with accurate arrival updates.

Responsibilities
- Managing and coordinating incoming ocean freight shipments from start to finish
- Reviewing and processing import documentation for EXW, FCA, and FAS consignments
- Sourcing and negotiating spot rates with shipping lines and transport partners
- Creating transport orders and recording shipment details accurately in the operational system
- Directing logistics subcontractors, warehouse depots, and road hauliers
- Tracking shipment progress and updating customers proactively on delivery dates
- Checking customs and transport paperwork for accuracy and compliance
- Processing shipment billing, verifying operational costs, and closing project files
Requirements
- Demonstrable work experience in a similar role within ocean freight forwarding
- Hands-on experience working with EXW, FCA, and FAS shipments
- MBO or HBO educational background, preferably in logistics or transport management
- Thorough understanding of FCL and LCL ocean import operations
- Good command of the English language in speaking and writing
- Structured working method and the ability to maintain accuracy under deadline pressure
- Practical experience working with CargoWise is a plus
We offer
- Direct contract with our client
- Gross monthly salary between € 3,150 and € 3,400 based on knowledge and experience
- Full-time position of 40 hours per week
- 25 holiday days based on a full-time contract
