As a care assistant, you play a crucial role in supporting clients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) to help them maintain their independence and well-being. Your responsibilities include: Personal Care (ADL Support) - Assisting with washing and bathing, including hair care and nail hygiene. - Helping clients with dressing and undressing, ensuring comfort and respect for their preferences. - Toilet assistance, such as supporting clients in using the toilet, changing incontinence products, and maintaining hygiene. - Providing mobility support, including helping clients move safely, repositioning bedridden clients, and assisting with walking aids. - Helping with feeding and drinking, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration. Household Support - Carrying out light housekeeping tasks, such as tidying up, laundry, and dishwashing. - Assisting with meal preparation based on dietary needs and preferences. Emotional and Social Support - Engaging in friendly conversation and offering companionship. - Encouraging clients to take part in social activities or hobbies. - Observing and reporting any changes in a client’s well-being to nurses or healthcare professionals.
