As a member of the Digital Management Team, the Head of Digital Analytics & Data Science is responsible for translating the overall Digital strategy of Rituals into a clear roadmap for data‑driven decision‑making. The role leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of behavioral data (web, app, email, and digital engagement) to drive measurable growth at Rituals. It owns the full lifecycle of behavioral data, from tracking and quality to building the models for audience activation, real‑time triggers, and advanced digital & customer analytics, while ensuring compliance and governance in collaboration with IT.

The role manages its own budget, ensuring investments in analytics platforms, composable CDP capabilities, and activation solutions deliver maximum business value. It acts as a key connector between Digital, IT, and commercial teams, aligning priorities with marketing, CRM, and proposition teams to ensure analytics and activation directly support commercial and marketing outcomes.

In addition, the role drives stakeholder engagement at all levels, building strong relationships with internal teams and external partners and vendors to ensure best‑in‑class solutions and performance. Reporting to the Executive Director Digital, this position plays a strategic role within the Digital Management Team, influencing decisions that shape the future of Rituals’ digital ecosystem.

Accountabilities

  • Translate the overall Digital strategy into a clear, actionable roadmap for behavioral data and activation, ensuring alignment with growth objectives.
  • Define data ownership boundaries: own behavioral data and technical CDP capabilities; coordinate with IT on customer, product, transaction, and other enterprise domains.
  • Build a prioritization model to intake and sequence demand from Digital and other proposition teams based on strategic impact and operational feasibility.
  • Set the vision for real‑time activation (event streaming, triggers, next‑best‑action) while maintaining reliability, governance, compliance, and scalability.
  • Drive vendor governance and performance management, including scorecards, SLA frameworks, and contract standardization for analytics and activation platforms.
  • Ensure budget accountability, optimizing investments in analytics, CDP, and activation capabilities to deliver maximum business value.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team of digital analysts, data scientists & engineers, technical CDP specialists, and tagging/implementation engineers.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, emphasizing data quality, compliance, and accountable delivery, while driving continuous improvement in processes and tools.
  • Manage budget allocation for team resources, tools, and vendor partnerships, ensuring measurable business value.
  • Act as the primary technical partner for analytics and activation across Digital and proposition teams, collaborating with IT, Legal, and Privacy to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in digital analytics, marketing analytics/measurement, or data science with a proven track record of delivering measurable commercial impact.
  • Demonstrated leadership in web/app analytics, tag management, behavioral data management, and campaign performance measurement.
  • Hands‑on expertise with modern analytics stacks (e.g., GA4), server‑side and consent‑aware tagging, identity resolution, and audience activation through CDPs.
  • Strong experience in budget ownership and investment planning for analytics and activation platforms, ensuring ROI on technology and vendor partnerships.
  • Proven ability to translate overall digital strategy into actionable analytics and activation roadmaps, aligning with business priorities.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leadership and managing relationships with external vendors and strategic partners.
  • Solid understanding of GDPR, privacy‑by‑design principles, and consent frameworks in digital activation.
  • Residency in the Netherlands and comfortable commuting to the Amsterdam office (non‑hybrid).
