Role Overview
At Booking.com we build the best experimentation platform. This Senior Product Manager leads the Metrics Team within the Experimentation Platform team, defining strategy, governance, and tooling to ensure statistically rigorous metrics across the company. The role is based in Amsterdam and is a mid‑senior, full‑time Product Management position.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive the Metrics Ecosystem strategy, roadmap, and long‑term vision.
- Gather stakeholder requirements, manage expectations, and communicate progress to senior leadership.
- Define a unified governance framework for metric lifecycle and experiment health.
- Guide experimenters on metric selection and maintain trustworthiness.
- Implement governance to protect against harmful or misleading metric use.
- Develop self‑service tools, APIs, and infrastructure for metric creation and analysis.
- Partner with engineering and data science to build scalable data pipelines and systems.
- Champion statistical integrity, ensuring metrics are accurate, reproducible, and interpretable.
- Advocate for data accessibility and integration with downstream workflows.
- Deliver critical platform improvements, managing complex dependencies and risks.
- Contribute to broader PM community through training and product craft group participation.
Qualifications
- 6+ years product management experience, ideally on complex data or experimentation platforms.
- Strong fluency in experimentation frameworks and statistical methods, including advanced techniques (sequential, quantile, ratio metrics, heterogeneous treatment effects).
- Proven experience guiding teams on metric selection and governance.
- Quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate complex concepts into clear requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and influence skills at all levels.
- Technical fluency with APIs, data pipelines, and scalable computation systems.
- Product strategy mindset – defining vision, objectives, and driving cross‑team alignment.
- Delivery excellence – managing roadmap and delivering high‑quality products at scale.
- Leadership – shaping product direction and mentoring junior PMs.
- Data‑science background preferred; experience publishing industry thought leadership preferred.
