Head of Finance

We are seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to take ownership of the full finance function. This is an all-encompassing position that will evolve into a broader Head of Finance remit as the company grows. You will manage day‑to‑day finance operations, ensure robust financial controls, and act as a trusted partner to leadership.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small‑business environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is energised by variety, change, and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end finance operations including AP, AR, payroll, and VAT
• Manage international tax considerations, particularly across two operating countries
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes
• Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and reporting frameworks
• Build and mentor a small finance team as the company scales
• Provide financial insight and support to management on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
• Partner with external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers
• Support upcoming expansion into Germany and future new markets
• Handle ad-hoc projects typical of a high-growth, multi-site environment

Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, Finance Manager, or similar
• Comfortable operating in a small or scaling business where responsibilities are broad and hands‑on
• Strong understanding of core finance processes across AP/AR, payroll, VAT, and tax
• Experience with multi‑country or multisite environments is highly desirable
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-moving environment
• Ability to build processes and teams from the ground up
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
• Ability to adapt and problem‑solve independently

Languages

• English: Required (business language)
• Dutch or German: Advantageous, particularly as the business expands into Germany
