About The Position

At Flora Food Group head offices located in Amsterdam a position has become vacant for a Tax Director - Europe & Global Transfer Pricing reporting to the Global Head of Tax. The Tax Director will manage the Group’s European tax affairs by having overall responsibility and oversight of all European tax matters and Transfer Pricing (Documentation). The position will encompass direct tax planning, research, reporting and tax compliance matters, as well as tax support to the business on operational matters.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Management and control of the tax positions of group legal entities in Europe.
• General international tax work in broad sense, including identification of opportunities, implementation of restructurings, ensuring objectives of compliance and tax management.
• Ensuring corporate compliance under global policy and roll‑out of Tax Governance Framework.
• Prepare appropriate responses to fiscal authority challenges, including managing tax audits, dispute resolution, negotiation and settlement of tax disputes/claims or mutual agreement procedures, where and as necessary.
• Manage and coordinate tax compliance as regards Corporate Income Tax Returns, DAC6/MDR, Transfer Pricing, Pillar 2.
• Support in further developing the effectiveness of the global tax department.
• Identifying process improvements, including the design and implementation of new practices.
• Developing sound working relationships with key departments within the Flora Food Group organization, e.g. Finance, Legal, Treasury and Operations.
• Establishing an efficient network including important (internal) customers and suppliers to achieve a common understanding for tax matters.
• To be the primary contact and to liaise with external tax advisors, lawyers and auditors.
• Keeping up to date with tax related developments in legislation, case law and local practice.
• Ensuring that transfer pricing documentation, incl IC agreements remains up‑to‑date to address future tax audits.
• Assistance with more general international tax work, as necessary.

Qualifications and Background

The ideal candidate is an ambitious, hands‑on and all‑round Tax professional with an academic Degree in Tax Law or Economics and at least 10 years of work experience in an international tax advisory firm and preferably in‑house experience.

Required Skills and Experience

• Master degree in taxation or masters in accountancy with an emphasis in taxation, or master Economics (MSc) or Law (LL.M) is a must. Tax qualification has a strong preference.
• CPA (or equivalent) in addition would be a plus.
• Around 15 years experience in international taxation, knowledge of transfer pricing, restructurings, financing, managing tax audits and hands‑on experience with tax return compilation and filings.
• Experience from Big 4 firm or industry; experience from both is a strong plus.
• Experience in FMCG industry is a plus.
• Previous experience of analysis and evaluation of national and inter‑company cross‑border business relationships.
• Experience in developing/supporting group/regional tax strategies.
• Good understanding of main business processes and strategic issues.
• Experience with tax and finance related software packages.
• The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to achieve results in a complex, multi‑functional, multi‑cultural and multi‑geographical environment.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
