SENIOR ELECTRONICS ENGINEER — Wearables & Point-of-Care MedTech (incl. Photonics)
Valkenswaard (near Eindhoven) | Mostly on-site | ~20-person international team
If you like building electronics that must perform on the body , in the field , and under medical/military constraints , this is your playground.
At 2M Engineering , you’ll own embedded electronics end-to-end for wearables and point-of-care medical devices—including photonics-based systems . Think ultra-low-power architecture , high-density compact PCBs , mixed-signal sensing , and hardware that must be reliable, testable, and manufacturable.
What you’ll do
- Take ownership from concept → architecture → schematic → PCB → bring-up → verification → production readiness
- Design ultra-low-power systems (energy budgets, power modes, leakage, regulation, battery life)
- Develop high-density small PCBs with strong SI/PI awareness and DFM/DFT mindset
- Build mixed-signal sensor front-ends (precision analog, ADCs, timing, noise control)
- Co-design across disciplines: embedded, mechanics, optics/photonics, systems (HW/SW interaction matters here)
- Support verification and compliance for regulated and mission-critical environments (engineering-first, practical)
What makes it interesting (and hard)
- Extracting clean signals from messy reality: motion, skin contact, drift, temperature, interference
- Balancing performance with manufacturability in tight form factors
- Debugging across domains: analog + digital + firmware + optics + mechatronics
- Shipping robust hardware under EMC/ESD and real-world reliability constraints
- Switching smoothly between multiple products and R&D projects —prioritising fast, keeping momentum, and staying sharp
What we’re looking for
You bring ownership and drive , with a strong eye for detail . You can translate theory into robust, buildable solutions and make sound architectural choices.
You have proven experience in:
- Defining product architecture and driving designs to validated hardware
- Designing and testing analog + digital electronics
- Wireless connectivity / RF , sensor electronics , and HW/SW integration
- Embedded firmware affinity— C is essential (C/C++ on ARM is a strong plus)
You communicate clearly and collaborate naturally with colleagues in sensor physics, mechanical engineering, signal processing, quality, and embedded software .
Requirements
- MSc (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering (or related)
- 5+ years industry experience in embedded product development
- Strong skills in simulation , schematic capture, and PCB layout (high-density is a plus)
- Experience with wireless/RF and EMC / product safety testing
- Affinity with wearables, point-of-care medical devices, and/or advanced sensor products
- Professional working proficiency in English (Agile/Scrum familiarity is a plus)
How we work
We’re a close, multidisciplinary engineering team and strongly prefer people to be mostly on-site —to iterate fast, troubleshoot together, and build great hardware efficiently.
