The job profile

In this function, you report directly to the Group Financial Controller. A core aspect of the role is the ongoing coaching and support of the Group Accountant, fostering professional growth and promoting continuous process improvement. The position ensures that all financial reports are prepared and submitted accurately and on time, including reporting. The role provides financial input for legal initiatives such as new company incorporations, mergers, acquisitions, and liquidations.

As the Financial Controller, you encompass the preparation of annual standalone financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Dutch GAAP and the coordination of external audits. It provides assistance for interim and year-end consolidated audit procedures and participates in or manages internal Group audit activities. Transactions and approvals are continuously reviewed to ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and banking guidelines. In addition, the Financial Controller is responsible for managing the annual budgets of both entities, monitoring actual results against forecasts and providing reports to budget holders.

The ideal candidate

As a Financial Controller at Oilinvest, you play a key role in a dynamic and innovation-driven company operating in the oil industry. You are able to build strong relationships and can liaise with, challenge and motivate internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will be able to operate at a strategic level while building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, supporting and challenging the business.

  • A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, ideally complemented by a post-master qualification (e.g. RA)
  • Strong experience in consolidation in international, decentralized organizations. Preferably with a background in Accountancy
  • Strong analytical skills, numerical precision and accurate
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to interact and integrate in a multicultural environment and brings a ‘degree of humbleness’
  • Fluency in both Dutch and English is required
