We’re expanding our Continuous Improvement Team and are on the lookout for the right person to help us turn ‘good’ into ‘great’, and ‘great’ into ‘even better’.
As one of our newest members in the Continuous Improvement Team, you play two important roles: on one hand, you are fulfilling duties in the field of Training (1), and on the other hand you continuously innovate business processes as Business Improvement Manager (2).
1. Training
As a Corporate Trainer, you are responsible for the professional development of our staff, by defining, creating, and building ways to help them perform at their absolute best! You offer training and coaching and analyze the results in order to decide the best way forward.
2. Business Improvement
The Business Improvement role is also a key position within a team that’s responsible for the delivery of process innovation and improvement initiatives throughout all NewPort’s departments and disciplines. You will play a direct role in shaping our approach to sustainable change and growth.
You will be able to directly influence the outcome of your work and can make a lasting impact on the organization!
About NewPort
At NewPort Tank Containers, we specialize in the international transport of chemical liquids, foodstuffs, and gas in tank containers. With offices worldwide and an extensive network of agents, we are one of the largest players in our industry.
Responsibilities, you will:
1. Training
- Train and guide new colleagues during the onboarding process and at later stages in their NewPort careers.
- Coordinate and organize NewPort’s training events and workshops.
- Create content in our e-learning platform (with Moodle/Articulate) and help maintain it.
- Take the lead in identifying training needs in partnership with HR and the Management team.
- Provide our teams with training in business rules, logistics processes, quality management and the use of our different software tools.
2. Business Improvement
- Take the lead in recognizing business improvement actions and implement and evaluate them.
- Validate new and existing processes and procedures to ensure the instructions are understandable, well-communicated and documented, locally and globally.
- Assure that planned improvements are implemented, measured, and checked across operating results.
- Work closely together with a team of six Trainers & Business Improvement Managers globally.
Our ideal candidate has:
- (Must) experience in teaching/training and coaching in a professional environment.
- (Must) great organizational skills – you are a self-starter with a hands-on mentality and can independently manage your own tasks/projects.
- (Must) analytical and problem-solving skills; Process improvements and the PDCA cycle ring a bell to you!
- (Must) fluency in English and at least B1-level Dutch.
- (Must) a creative, open mind; full of ideas!
- (Pre) an open personality and is able to inspire and motivate others and can facilitate training sessions and workshops with energy and fun.
- (Pre) familiarity with creating content in an LMS; a strong plus.
- (Pre) an education in a related study field: Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, Logistics Management
- You are not afraid to speak up with the aim of creating a better situation.
- You feel at ease in a fast-paced environment which changes easily and can adapt and prioritize under changing circumstances, without losing track of the end goal.
