RAMS/ILS Engineer

As a RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) / ILS (Integrated Logistical Support) Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the RAMS and ILS of complex aerospace and defense systems throughout their lifecycle. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, supporting both design and operational phases with analyses and strategies that enhance system performance, reduce lifecycle costs, and ensure mission success.

Job Overview

• Develop and maintain RAMS plans , ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ECSS-Q-ST-30, MIL-STD-1629, MIL-STD-882 , and DEF STAN 00-40 .
• Conduct Reliability Prediction, FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) , and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in accordance with the industry standards.
• Support Safety Case development and RAMS/ILS Requirements verification and validation activities in alignment with system engineering processes.
• Define and monitor Maintainability and Testability requirements across system design and implement these accordindly.
• Prepare and maintain ILS documentation , including LORA (Level or Repair), LCC (Life Cycle Costing), Maintenance Plans, and Supportability Analyses .
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate RAMS and ILS deliverables into design reviews and project milestones.
• Contribute to logistics optimization , spare parts provisioning, and maintenance planning to ensure lifecycle efficiency.

Ideal candidate

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Proficient in English and in Dutch,

Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) methods and Logistic Support Analysis (LSA),

Skilled in reviewing and improving technical documentation (content, readability, text structure),

Knowledge of procedures for occupational safety, health and safety, environmental, and quality procedures and regulations (ISO),

Knowledge of ASD S1000D, S2000M and MIL-STD-1388-2B, ECSS Q Series is a plus,

Experience with Reliability Prediction tools (e.g. Relex, Reliasoft) and modeling methodologies, and familiarity with ECSS, MIL, or DEF STAN standards is a plus.
