This is a full time permanent role working a minimum 3 days a week in the office and must be eligible to live and work in the Netherlands.

I'm closely partnering with an ambitious startup in South Holland looking to appoint a Senior

Product Engineer for their lean product team.

We need someone exceptional who owns features end-to-end, obsesses over business outcomes, and uses AI strategically to move fast. You're not just writing code you're discovering problems, designing solutions, and proving impact through metrics. If you thrive on autonomy and want your work to directly drive revenue, this is for you.

What We're Looking For: Product Engineer DNA

The Complete Owner You take a problem from discovery to deployment. You'll talk to customers (or sales/PMs as proxies), design the UX, build frontend to backend, ship it, and measure what actually matters. No handoffs. No waiting for "the backend team" or "the design team."

Outcome Obsessed, Not Output Obsessed You track metrics and care about results. "I shipped 50 features" means nothing to you but "increased conversion by 30%" does. You understand this isn't just internal tooling; our customer portal drives sales leads, and bad UX means lost revenue.

AI-Multiplied Developer You use AI tools strategically (Claude Code, Copilot, v0, or similar) to ship 3x faster. You're not hostile to leverage you seek it out. You know when AI helps (refactoring, boilerplate, prototypes) and when you need to architect yourself.

Ships Fast AND Quality You understand strategic technical debt. You'll ship a POC in days with hardcoded config to validate with customers, then refactor properly if it works. But you never cut corners on security, data integrity, or customer-facing bugs.

User-Focused Designer You're not afraid to design. You prototype UX, validate with users, and care deeply about polish for customer-facing experiences.

Domain Curious You shadow experts, read docs, build small visualizations, and ask smart questions until you can design solutions confidently.

Team Multiplier Small team means helping others level up. You pair, mentor, and unblock teammates because team velocity > individual velocity.

Organizationally Fearless When you hit blockers, you find creative paths forward. You don't wait weeks for approval you build prototypes with test keys, prove value, and get expedited decisions. You move fast without burning bridges.

Problem-Focused Thinker When given "improve onboarding," you talk to customers first, discover the real pain points, and build what users actually need not just what was asked for. You define 'WHAT' to build, not just 'HOW'.

Technical Stack & Role

This is a Senior Fullstack role with heavier frontend focus initially. Forged-in-startup experience strongly preferred.

• A complete feature you owned end-to-end (frontend to backend to deployment)
• How you measured impact with actual metrics and business outcomes
• UX work you've designed, be prepared show your portfolio/screenshots
• How you've helped teammates level up or get unblocked
• A time you intentionally took on technical debt and why
• How you'd learn complex domain quickly
