Product Owner

Introduction

As a Product Owner at Stater, you constantly ask yourself the question: "How can I optimize the value of the product that the team is delivering in the coming sprint?”. As Stater is in transition towards becoming a more product-focused organization, a big part of your role will be managing the product life cycle in collaboration with stakeholders, including our clients.

Who are we?

Who is Stater? You may have never heard of us, so let us explain what we do. At Stater, we develop and provide mortgage services and platforms for external lenders. With our products and services, we manage 40% of the mortgages in the Netherlands. Working with us means working for an organization that is deeply embedded in society with products that (indirectly) affect many Dutch households. Our clients include major Dutch banks and other lenders.

What will you do?

For our Generic Services Tribe, Stater is looking for experienced Product Owners (PO). As a PO you will lead two BizDev teams in one of our product clusters. The purpose of this function is to maximize (customer) value by delivering relevant services with the BizDev teams using a prioritized product backlog. This product backlog is created based on input you gather from market analysis, conversations with clients and market parties, interaction with the teams and other stakeholders.

As PO you are the functional lead of the BizDev teams and owner of the product. The PO needs to bridge the gap between business strategy and product execution by collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Together with the BizDev teams and the stakeholders you are creating a product vision and you ensure adhering to this vision with any product management and development activities. You naturally involve and engage the teams, supplying teams and the stakeholders (internal and external customers, staff functions, etc.).

As a Product Owner you are responsible for optimizing the value delivered by the team in each sprint. To be able to do so you have to weigh the importance of change requests in different categories such as license to operate, product development or customer demand and balance it with run work. You are in constant contact with stakeholders and the teams to optimize the product roadmap and backlog towards the team, company and customer objectives.

As we are moving to a more product centered way of working we are adopting more and more a ‘you build it you run it’ mentality. As a Product Owner you are therefore responsible for products in development, regression and in production, both in a lead role for multiteam development and in a supplier role depending on the developments. You are responsible for product profitability and financial performance.

Who are we looking for?

You:

• Have a bachelor or master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, IT or other related field of study.
• Have 5+ years of experience working in product management and/or product delivery.
• Have experience with client interaction and stakeholder management
• Have good knowledge of software delivery & software maintenance processes.
• Have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Are fluent in English and Dutch.
• Are able to structure work for your team, other teams and your stakeholders via available tooling such as Jira, LeanKit, Planview and MS Office.
