How You Keep The Engine Running With Us As a safety ambassador, you will focus on developing and promoting safety awareness within Fokker. You will act as the bridge between senior management and the operational floor, where your opinion and research are essential. You will also ensure compliance with laws and regulations, assess processes against various safety requirements, and provide advice based on your findings. Collaboration with other departments is key — your mission is to elevate the entire organization’s safety culture. You are not afraid to challenge behaviors or discuss safety issues openly. Conducting RI&E (Risk Inventory & Evaluation), TRA (Task Risk Analysis), and managing hazardous substances are familiar parts of your work.
Ensure the organization operates within applicable laws and regulations.
Identify and prioritize risks and determine acceptable mitigation measures together with the organization.
Maintain and continuously improve the Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Investigate incidents (depending on severity) to identify root causes and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
Build relationships with stakeholders to influence HSE aspects across all organizational levels and externally.
Engage colleagues on HSE-related topics throughout the organization.
Participate in or conduct (safety and environmental) audits on-site or at third parties.
Perform safety walks involving employees and managers.
How You Are Valuable To Us
A bachelor’s degree (HBO) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
An MVK (Middle-Level Safety Expert) certification is required; HVK (Higher-Level Safety Expert) or Occupational Hygiene is a plus.
Knowledge of HSE legislation and current developments.
Strong analytical skills to uncover the root cause behind issues.
Proficiency in both Dutch and English (B2 level).
Experience preparing reports.
Proficient in MS Office, including Visio.
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
Highly independent, process-oriented, decisive, resilient, and hands-on.
Experience working with management systems.
