You will serve either as Deputy Section Leader (DSL) or as Head of Operational Horizontal Activities. After full time training, you will deploy on rotation to EU external borders or, when required, third countries.
As Deputy Section Leader (DSL) you:
Act as main Frontex contact for Host Country authorities
Support and replace the Section Leader
Assist FCC in implementing the Operational Plan and ensuring fundamental rights compliance
Coordinate activities and deployed resources with Host Country authorities
Monitor operational needs and report changes to FCC
Oversee information gathering and reporting
Supervise Group Leaders and working time management
Ensure timely daily updates
Report conduct or fundamental rights concerns
Lead briefings, crisis meetings and debriefings
Maintain chain of command and promote cohesion and readiness
As Head of Operational Horizontal Activities you lead a team in one of three domains:
1) Logistics
Manage inventory, distribution, fleet, facilities, PPE and weapons
Provide logistical support and advise FCC
Oversee asset controls, inventories and hand over processes
Manage procurement, petty cash and reporting
Conduct safety and risk assessments and identify training needs
2) Information and Intelligence
Coordinate information collection with OMD, RET and FCC
Validate incidents in JORA and link with EUROSUR
Support information management, including media
Provide situational assessments and short term analysis
Coordinate debriefing tasks, develop SOPs and ensure facility security
Manage interpreters, ICM and information related risks
3) Operational Coordination
Monitor operational areas and propose plan adjustments
Verify equipment deployments and support planning
Coordinate training events and lessons learned
Prepare resource allocation proposals and operational updates
Contribute to OPLANs, FERs and evaluations
Manage SOPs, SIRs and JORA access and support crisis response and cooperation with Host Country authorities
Eligibility:
Citizenship of an EU Member State or Schengen Associated Country
University degree of at least four years, or three years plus one year of additional experience
Minimum 9 years professional experience, including 5 years in leadership roles in border management, policing, customs, defence, return, logistics or related security fields
Clean criminal record and readiness to carry and use service weapons
Physical fitness for operational and training duties
English at B2 level or higher
Valid category B manual driving licence

Five year temporary contract (renewable once) with nine month probation
Competitive AD8 salary, including management allowance, expatriation or foreign residence allowance and family allowances depending on personal situation

Full time Operational Training Programme covering border and coast guard topics, leadership, physical training, use of force, shooting and an Experiential Learning Phase
