Head of Data Management

Head of Data Engineering | Trading | Amsterdam | Up to €140K

Our client is an ambitious high‑frequency trading firm that’s growing quickly, currently with 50 employees and aiming to evolve into a true scale‑up. To get there, they need to bring more structure and maturity into their tech environment.

In an IT team of 20 there is no real data team yet. You will be the first to set the standards, create workflows and design/implement processes for the data team. The road from a start‑up with no foundation to a dominant player in HFT requires reliable, real‑time, high‑frequency data foundations – that’s why they are looking for a Lead Data Architecture & Engineering Expert who has done this before, knows what “good” looks like, and can help shape a clear vision and build the right structure.

We are looking for someone with experience in:

• Leadership – experience setting up and growing teams
• Data architecture – high‑level data architecture and long‑term vision
• Hands‑on experience with technologies such as PostgreSQL, RedPanda/Kafka, KX/kdb+, Scylla, KeyDB
• Experience in tech environments with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud/hybrid deployments
• Experience with high‑volume or low‑latency environments (fintech, payments, trading, etc.)
