Job Description

As we continue to grow across Europe, we’re looking for a Head of Risk & Compliance who can help us scale responsibly and build a culture of trust and integrity. This is a senior leadership role where you’ll have real influence: shape our risk and compliance strategy, guide the 2nd line team, report directly to the CFRO and work directly with regulators and partners to keep MultiSafepay (MSP) ahead of the curve.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the risk and compliance function end-to-end, from maintaining an ethical organization and AML/CFT frameworks to enterprise risk management and regulatory engagement
• Design and evolve MSP’s global compliance and risk frameworks as we expand into new markets and products
• Design and maintain the Risk Management Framework and Compliance program (including yearly plan)
• Act as a key advisor to leadership, helping balance growth and innovation with regulatory expectations and manage conflicts of interest
• Own key governance areas: risk assessments, control testing, incident response and Board-level reporting
• Oversee and continuously improve policies around AML/CFT, sanctions, IT risk and data protection
• Partner with Product and Operations teams to embed risk thinking into new features and launches
• Build strong, transparent relationships with regulators and auditors
• Develop and lead a team of risk and compliance professionals
• Create company-wide awareness on risk and compliance and lead training programs

Job requirements

• 10+ years of experience in compliance, financial crime or risk in a financial institution — ideally within a PSP or fintech
• Deep understanding of Dutch and EU regulatory environment (incl. PSD, Wft, Wwft, DORA, Outsourcing/TPRM, GDPR) and competent authorities (incl. DNB, AP, FATF)
• Hands‑on experience in managing regulatory interactions/on‑sites/reviews and supporting internal and external audits
• Comfortable in a fast‑moving environment where priorities shift and innovation happens daily
• Able to translate complex regulation into clear, actionable guidance for teams
• Strong communicator who can build trust at all levels — from engineers to board members
• Strategic thinker with a practical, solution‑oriented mindset

It Would Be Great If You Have

• Experience leading licensed entities or holding a regulated role (e.g., Compliance Officer)
• Certifications like EMOC, ICA, CAMS, FRM or alike
• Experience scaling risk and compliance in a quickly growing environment
• Been assessed by DNB or AFM previously
