We are seeking a senior sales professional with strong Ocean Freight expertise and a true hunter mentality.

Role Overview - Senior Business Development Manager Ocean Freight

In this role, you will independently acquire and develop strategic SME customers, acting as a knowledgeable partner who translates commercial opportunities into sustainable sea freight solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire, manage, and grow strategic customers with a strong focus on Ocean Freight.
  • Advise on complex sea freight topics: trade lanes, equipment, Incoterms, supply chain optimization.
  • Identify market developments and convert them into opportunities.
  • Build long-term relationships at decision‑maker level.
  • Drive cross‑sell and up‑sell across the full DGF portfolio.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and deliver on KPIs.
  • Collaborate closely with Pricing, Operations, and Product teams.
  • Ensure excellent service and customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level capability (HBO) and 5+ years in freight forwarding.
  • Proven success in Ocean Freight new business development.
  • Strong knowledge of sea freight processes, trade lanes, and pricing.
  • Skilled in CRM and structured pipeline management.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
