Legal Director Netherlands


This is a unique opportunity to join Verisure Netherlands as Legal Director, reporting directly to the Managing Director Netherlands and serving as a key member of the local Management Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of two professionals and work closely with Dutch leadership, Cluster, and Group Legal teams to shape the legal agenda of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial business.

In our fast-moving B2C subscription business, Legal sits at the center of the action. Responsibilities of the Legal Director - Netherlands

Comprehensive Legal Advisory

  • Consumer Protection & Go to Market regulations: Provide expertise on Go to Market regulations to advise the business on marketing, advertising and sales materials, initiatives and processes, as well as collaborations in this area with third parties, covering consumer protection and marketing regulation, data privacy, service specific regulation.
  • Compliance Program: Lead the implementation of the Group Compliance Program (Mini standards) and the corresponding NL program, promote a culture of integrity, and deliver training and advice to ensure ethical business practices; Lead the local action plan to ensure the deployment of the Compliance Program. Local monitoring of the risk matrix.
  • Legal compliance: Ensure full compliance within key legal compliance areas, including duty of vigilance, competition, anti‑bribery and anti‑money laundering regulation. Support the deployment of the ESG Program with Group legal & Group HR.
  • Governmental and Regulatory Affairs: Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and contribute to industry regulation evolution. Ensure business compliance in a regulated sector of private security activity. Together with Head of Operations, further our partnering with police and other emergency response agencies to further strengthen our alarm response services. Keep abreast of key regulatory and legal trends to anticipate impacts on the business with regulatory monitoring.
  • Data Privacy: Lead the implementation of the Group Data Privacy Program and the corresponding UK&I program, and work closely with business teams on privacy by design solutions and relevant DPIAs, process design, and contract terms for customer data management.
  • Commercial Contracting: Work closely with the business teams on contracts with customers, suppliers, alliances, partnerships, franchisees, and sales partners. Implement digital customer contracting solutions.
  • Fair Competition: Monitor competitors’ claims and practices and take legal action where justified, and ensure our practices can be defended from a fair competition perspective.
  • Intellectual Property: Together with the Group IP team, defend and develop the Verisure trademark and brand, protecting critical business know‑how.
  • Employment Law: Support HR on employment law issues and support legal aspects of HR policies. Including helping on the implementation of new labor laws.

Strategic Business Adviser

  • Provide pragmatic and commercial legal guidance to shape business strategies and plans through strategic legal advice. As a business enabler, provide concrete solutions that can be implemented within the company.
  • Open‑mindedness for a 360° legal approach to innovations & new projects (thinking outside the box)
  • Advise on conducting business ethically and legally, promoting a culture of integrity through integrity leadership.

Legal Sourcing & Project Management

  • Manage internal and external legal resources for maximum efficiency and expertise to optimize legal spend.
  • Develop and maintain preferred law firm relationships to strengthen law firm partnerships.
  • Contribute to company‑wide priority projects in collaboration with the Group Legal team to drive key initiatives. Act as an active member, working in a collaboritve mode within the Central Europe legal Cluster by sharing local expertise, and

Candidate Profile

Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Legal leader who combines strategic vision with a hands‑on approach. Commercially, you act as a sparring partner to senior leaders while driving both transformation and day‑to‑day impact—a strategic solution provider and operational enabler ready to grow into one of Verisure’s next‑generation leaders.

  • Experience as a qualified lawyer (around 10 years), ideally starting with training at a reputable law firm in the Netherlands.
  • In‑house experience in a B2C environment is highly valued, especially within a business model similar to ours (fast‑paced, subscription‑based).
  • Dutch University Law degree and a current practicing certificate.
  • Broad generalist experience, providing full‑spectrum legal support across all aspects of a growing B2C business, including anticipating regulatory changes, consumer trends, and reputational risks—and managing potential crises quickly and effectively.
  • Ability to simplify complexity, advising on challenging legal matters in clear, concise terms that non‑legal stakeholders can easily understand.
  • Strong legal drafting skills, recognized for clarity and precision in all documents.
  • Proven track record in dynamic, multinational environments, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration.
  • Managerial experience leading a small team is highly preferred, with the ability to develop and empower team members while working seamlessly with resources across the organization.
