As an Application Engineer at Personal Safety Division for Netherlands and Belgium, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing customer-facing technical advice, serving as the go-to application engineer for consultancy on product performance, regulatory requirements, and relevant standards in Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
• Implementing tailored evaluations, demos, and trials at customer sites to validate PPE application fit, optimize outcomes, and accelerate adoption.
• Determining customer use conditions, compliance needs, and hazard considerations to recommend the optimal solution from our portfolio, including configurations, accessories and care and maintenance.
• Supporting the sales cycle (pre- and post-sale) with technical proposals, compliance mappings (PPE Regulation), and risk-mitigation recommendations that enable confident product selection.
• Collaborating with account managers, marketing, product development, and regulatory affairs to align on customer requirements, to deploy solutions efficiently and to drive safety culture development throughout all industries
• Promoting application-engineering best practices and worker health and safety through customer trainings, webinars, 3rd party engagement and technical content that reinforce our credibility with customers.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in chemistry or related sciences
• Experience related to workers' health and safety
• Familiarity with general health and safety regulations in the Netherlands and Belgium and the willingness to elevate that knowledge
• Ability to interact as an intermediator between 3M and customers at all levels
• Fluent in Flemish English and ideally also French
