Bio Informatics Analyst
Employer provides innovative DNA analyses for patient diagnostics and genetic laboratory research. Our diagnostic tests detect the genetic cause(s) behind disease, and can help tailor the treatment to individual patients.
We provide a complete portfolio of cutting-edge Next Generation Sequencing techniques to analyze hereditary traits in all organisms, including sequencing, Inherited Disease Panel Sequencing, , and .
We are accredited since , an international standard for laboratory excellence.
Job description
A Bioinformatics Analyst contributes to scientific analysis of big data sets - mainly Next Generation Sequencing data-, using a variety of bioinformatics techniques and software applications. The projects in which he/she may be involved include commercial projects, validation of wet and dry lab methods, research projects (grants) and software development. Responsibilities include generating, processing, analyzing, and annotating biological relevant genomic data and preparing the data for further research, according to the specifications agreed with the customer. All work will be accompanied with proper scientific reporting of the performed analyses.
Tasks will be performed within project HYPER Directing genome diagnostics towards a Higher Yield, Personalization, Efficiency and Robustness in a public-private partnership. You will focus on RNA-sequencing to complement DNA sequencing to find causative genes in patients where a diagnosis could previously not be determined. You will use RNA sequencing data to simultaneously analyze the expression of for example splice variants, fusions and non-coding species that can be used as clinical biomarkers.
