Reporting directly to the Head of Group Technology Procurement, you’ll have the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and deliver results that matter on a global scale.Roles and responsibilitiesThe Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for the Source-to-Contract processes and must ensure that the process always runs seamlessly. Responsible for developing the sourcing execution approach. Ensure accomplishment of the source to contract goals by defining needs, researching the market, running sourcing events, vetting suppliers, and negotiating complex contracts. Accountable for global sourcing execution across Technology category. Responsible to manage critical and strategic contracts.As Sourcing Manager, you will drive strategic sourcing initiatives that shape ING’s future. Leading complex, high-value projects, influencing senior stakeholders, and ensuring procurement delivers innovation and measurable impact across the organization.Your key responsibilities include:Category ManagementIdentify business needs, category specifications and requirementsAdvise category managers with the development of category strategies, approaches and improvement areasProject ManagementExecute complex sourcing initiatives and projects. Communicate and advise senior stakeholders. Manage global projectsLead the Sourcing and Category management experts involved during cross team projectsCoach buyers on how to negotiate, make analysesLead and influence cross-functional teams across regions. Execute functional- , talent- , people- and performance managementPerform stakeholder management activities with senior stakeholders by leveraging advanced advisory skillsSourcing Management:Providing input for the category managers for business partnering activities, such as establishing stakeholder relationships, managing strategic initiatives, managing business innovations and assessing innovation opportunitiesProvide input for the category managers during strategic activities, such as defining and managing category & sourcing approaches and strategies. Support category managers with identifying suppliers in scope during supplier segmentationsProvide input for the Back Office team with performing KYS checks and onboarding suppliersSupport the Procurement Operations team with approving and reviewing vendor master dataProvide all information to operational tools during the supplier onboarding process and support contract management with supplier phase-outResponsible for developing the sourcing event and the management of the RFX process. Prepare sourcing documentation and train suppliers, design & issue the RFX and consolidate RFX responsesSupport category management with proposal negotiations and selecting suppliersConduct contract negotiations with suppliers. Agree and document terms & conditions and finalize the approved contractGet contract approvals and start onboarding process and content creation. Send the contract to the supplier and retrieve signatures from both partiesProvide input for the Leadership team with evaluating available supplier innovations and strategiesFunction as a senior sourcing SME and possess deep category knowledge to execute complex sourcing initiatives across categoriesDrive contract and third party risk complianceVendor Management (strategic suppliers)Perform supplier performance. Collect performance measurements and data. Conduct supplier dialoguesPerform product & service quality assessments. Verify the quality of products & services against contractual terms & conditionsStrategic challengesOne of the key challenges in this role—and across the broader organisation—is transitioning from a business partner model to a category-focused approach.
